Discover the history of Chiswick House through a new game
Explore the peaceful grounds of Chiswick House and Gardens with the launch of an interactive video game, ‘Dear Drennan’, based on the hidden history of Chiswick House whilst it operated as a private asylum in the early 20th century. The asylum was known for its humane treatment of patients and the game will allow you to explore this fascinating story using a map to navigate around the gardens. Along the way you will meet some of the characters from the archives who lived or worked at Chiswick House at this time.
This experience has been created as part of the Accentuate, History of Place project, which is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund. It aims to tell the story of 800 years in the lives of deaf and disabled people through eight places.
This will take place in the cafe and the team behind the game will be on hand to show you the game and talk you through the ideas behind it.
The game is suitable for people of 8 years of age & over.
