Chiswick House and Gardens Trust appoint Sir Derek Myers’ as new Chairman.

The Chiswick House and Gardens Trust (CHGT) are delighted to announce the appointment of Sir Derek Myers as incoming Chairman of the Trust to succeed Andrew Fane who is retiring after eight years.

Sir Derek has had a distinguished record in public service, including three years as Chief Executive at LB Hounslow, and thirteen years in that role at Kensington and Chelsea, giving him exceptional expertise heading local authorities in London.   He has had a further range of public sector roles in Public Health England and as chair of government -appointed commissions.

 

Andrew Fane said, “I am delighted that Sir Derek has agreed to take up the chairmanship of CHGT at such an important time in the Trust’s development. Management of the House and Garden are now united under the Trust and whilst real challenges remain the potential for this very special and important site in Chiswick is very great.  Sir Derek will be the ideal person to lead the Trust forward in continuing improvements to the estate and making it ever more popular with and relevant to its local and wider communities.  It is a well-loved resource to all who know and use it.”

Sir Derek said, “I am pleased to be joining the Trust to work with all those who can help Chiswick House, as it approaches its 300th anniversary, to be recognised as the most beautiful, and most useful, Grade 1 listed House and Gardens in London.”
