Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you make:

Our family-run company was started in 1994. We’re two designers (Ed Glover, who studied at UCA Farnham, and Judi Glover, who went to Manchester Met) and together we bring our previous art-world expertise to produce beautiful and contemporary jewellery, tableware and gifts.

I’m a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Pewterers and our company, Glover and Smith, are members of The Association of British Pewter Craftsmen and most of our designs carry the quality marks of the Association.

All of our products are designed and made by us in our own workshops in Wilton, near Salisbury, and we are approved suppliers to The Woodland Trust, The National Trust, English Heritage, Prince Charles’ Estate, The World Wildlife Fund and many more conservation-aware organisations.

Previous commissions include a commemorative spoon for the prestigious V&A museum in London, Canterbury Cathedral and Salisbury Cathedral. We have also received an award for “Excellence in Design” from the body which represents the huge UK gift industry – The Giftware Association.

Which of your products are available in the Chiswick House Shop?

Chiswick House stocks a selection of our pewter and silver necklaces, earrings and cufflinks as well as our jam jar spoons and keyrings.

What are you working on at the moment?

Currently we are expanding our range of popular pewter bookmarks.

What do you love about Chiswick House and Gardens?

We love the 18^th Century architecture at Chiswick House inspired by Grand Tours and the fact that the gardens at Chiswick is the birthplace of the English Landscape Movement.
