Visiting with kids

We have 65 acres of woodland, lawns and gardens to explore. Come and play, walk or enjoy a picnic!

The Gardens are open from 7am until dusk and are free to visit – perfect for all the family to enjoy every day. Don’t forget to visit our Café, which has a great kids’ menu. Located next to the playground. See What’s On to find out what family activities and events are taking place.

Under 7s playground

Our under 7s playground is located next to the Café so you can enjoy a coffee from the Café while your kids burn off some energy!

Kid’s audio guide

If you’re visiting the House, be sure to pick up a free audio guide for kids narrated by Sophie Ellis-Bextor. The guide is free with your ticket. The House is open Thursday to Sunday, 11am-4pm until Sunday 1 October 2023.

Book tickets to visit the House

Cloakroom

We don’t have a cloakroom in the House so please only bring bags that you can carry close to you during your visit.

Baby changing

Baby changing is available in the toilets by the Café and pushchairs are welcome throughout the grounds.

Buggy Park

We have a buggy park at the entrance for House visitors. There are a limited number of spaces and you will need to collapse your buggy when you leave it in the park. Please do not leave bags with the buggy – we cannot be held responsible for your belongings so we recommend that you bring everything in bags that you can carry into the House with you and keep at your side.
