Tell us about the work that you do at Chiswick House & Gardens Trust:

Every single day is different which is what I love about the job. Whether it’s meeting with couples to discuss their exciting wedding plans, or creating elaborate briefs for private Summer Parties, each day always brings an exciting challenge.

Our aim is to guide our clients from the initial enquiry, when it is simply an idea, to bringing their dreams to life! I understand planning any type of event can be overwhelming and stressful, so I like to offer continuous guidance and expertise as a helping hand.

What’s your favourite memory from hosting an event at Chiswick House & Gardens?

Every wedding or private event we run here at Chiswick is so unique and memorable in its own special way, so it’s hard to pinpoint just one favourite memory. I like to reflect on all the little details that make each wedding remarkable, whether that’s guests arriving on a Routemaster Bus, a seriously cool bridal entrance in a Tuk-Tuk, a surprise Moldavian flash dance during dinner in our Garden Pavilion, sparkler send-offs for the happy couple outside the stunning Chiswick House or steel bands playing on the Portico balcony. The memories are endless!

The final meetings with brides and grooms, typically one month before a wedding, is a really special moment for us as an events team. During the whole process from the initial enquiry, I build such a strong relationship with our couples. The final meeting is to run through absolutely everything, from timings to designs, to floor plans and of course the all-important catering. What I love about this moment is seeing everything come together after what is usually a year of planning. It’s a very special experience, knowing what’s to come, and sharing the excitement with clients I have come to know very well.

What makes Chiswick House & Gardens different from any other venue?

Chiswick House & Gardens is only seven miles from busy central London, yet the moment you enter the Gardens, you feel like you are in the countryside, surrounded by so many colorful blooms.

Plus the historical backdrop reminds you that you’re in a venue that has played host to lavish celebrations for 300 years. The venue offers such a diverse range of spaces, you can achieve an outdoor feel in our Iconic 19th century Conservatory, or enjoy our 18th century villa, surrounded by ornately decorated galleries filled with lavish art collections.

The Garden Pavilion, our seasonal marquee, is the perfect blank canvas for decorating as you please, surrounded by lawns for your guests to enjoy.

The diversity of the spaces means we have something that works for everyone.

What are you most excited for this year?

Apart from looking after all of our wonderful couples, I are excited about the design trends we are seeing for 2023.

Complimenting the multitude of floral colours in our heritage gardens, we’re seeing lots of bold colour palettes. From bridesmaids dresses to flower arrangements or table designs, I am finding that pastel shades are a thing of the past, and couples are opting for vibrant, bold and daring designs to give the spaces ‘wow’ factor.  I can’t wait to see this come to life.

And what about the menu?

The close partnership I have with our exclusive caterer Create is something couples love about our space. Create’s food is really imaginative and created with a love for fresh ingredients. Whether the menu is simple, modern, elegant, fusion, traditional or cutting edge, they can devise a menu tailored to the couple’s vision sourcing only the highest quality seasonal ingredients.

Create are passionate about incorporating Chiswick Gardens into their offering, whether that be taking inspiration from our Kitchen Garden produce or using our very own Cedar and Camellia gin distilled from extracts from our world-famous 300-year-old cedar trees and petals from our heritage camellias, to create bespoke cocktails for our clients.

The Conservatory (100 guests)

The Conservatory is set in the Italian Garden, formally landscaped with roses, wisteria and many other colourful blooms. Achieve the feeling of an outdoor ceremony with the comfort of indoor preparations in the 19th-century glasshouse, filled with natural light. Guests can indulge in pre-dinner drinks among the sweet smell of roses in the secluded Italian Garden, the perfect setting for an intimate drinks reception.

The Garden Pavilion (200 guests)

The Garden Pavilion is a purpose-built marquee designed with flexibility in mind; a venue that can be tailored to suit intimate gatherings and grand celebrations alike. The Garden Pavilion has neutral ivory linings to complement your chosen colour palette or theme. On a warm day, window panels are tied back to bring the outside in, and the two neighbouring lawns can be decked out with garden seating or set with lawn games for your guests to enjoy.
