Growing Together at Chiswick House
‘Growing Together at Chiswick House’: community engagement in the beautiful spaces at Chiswick House and Gardens.
At Chiswick House & Gardens Trust, we believe that community is our future.
Our thriving community and schools programme, centred in our beautiful Kitchen Garden, helps people come together to explore nature, create art, and learn together about growing flowers and food.
And throughout the year, our varied, inclusive programme of co-designed gardening and creative activities and community events support wellbeing, boost mental health, and build confidence.
Every year, our partnerships with local groups and schools deepen as we work together on long-lasting ventures, from our Black Chiswick through History research project, to our creation of a Silent Space in the Chiswick House Rosary, in partnership with local women’s community group Trinjan.
Community & Creative Campus
To ensure our long-term future, and to ensure that our vital community work to continue to thrive, we are building a vibrant Community and Creative Campus, a £6m redevelopment project that will create new indoor and outdoor spaces for the whole community in coming years.
The first stage of the project, the creation of our new Artist Studios, designed to establish an onsite community of artists and makers, is already complete, with our artists set to move in later this year.
The campus will include a new Learning Hub, Learning Yard and Kitchen Garden hub, enabling us to welcome twice as many community partners each year and provide a home for our expanding schools programme.
It will also see the transformation of an unused and overgrown 17th century walled garden into a community fruit garden.
