Summer Late and Grow FM Launch Party

Join us after hours for our summer Late as we explore the theme of ‘community as health’ and celebrate the launch of Grow FM

A rare opportunity to spend a summer’s evening exploring the House after hours with an inspiring programme of music and workshops, performances and sound experiences, featuring artist, writer and DJ, Zakia Sewell.

You’ll also be part of the official launch of Grow FM, our new radio station, powered by the community for the community, which will be broadcasting from Chiswick House & Gardens for six weeks this summer.

DJ Zakia Sewell premieres new audio soundwork

The premiere of artist, broadcaster and NTS DJ Zakia Sewell’s new audio soundwork, commissioned for Grow FM by Chiswick House & Gardens, plus DJ sets by Zakia and the Grow FM radio producers.

Screenings of ‘Depictions of Hounslow’

A series of short films curated and created by members of the local community in collaboration with the Creative People & Places Hounslow Visual Arts Programme in collaboration with Martin Newth an artist, and resident of Ealing. The films explore the borough’s identity, geography, culture and history, uncovering untold stories and bringing them to life through photography, video and installation and slow, mindful observation.

Spice Stories by Chef Manju Mahli

A spice blend and exchange workshop by chef Manju Mahli to transform your memories of favourite childhood dishes into feel-good spice blends to exchange with someone else on the night.

HAY present spoken word performances

The remarkable young women from the Hounslow Action for Youth Association’s (HAY) present spoken word performances of their creative writing project.  Powerful poems will touch on themes such environment, womanhood, empowerment, isolation, black lives matter, power, judgement, and self care to name a few.

‘Cheswick House’ the immersive alternative future

The UCL Centre for Critical Heritage Studies invite you to imagine alternative futures for this historic house and gardens, rebranded as ‘Cheswick House’. You’ll be able to create your own fossil from the future, or workshop ideas for your own tour of the house!

Food and Drink

There will also be a selection of food stalls and a fully licensed bar!
