Sian Alexander, chair of Chiswick House and Gardens Trust trustees, steps down

Sian Alexander, the chair of Chiswick House and Gardens Trust, has stepped down following the trustee board meeting on March 14, having informed the board of her intention to resign earlier this year.

Sian was appointed in April 2023 and has done a fantastic job in overseeing the capital project for the community and creative campus, which is well underway, and recruiting some excellent new trustees to the board.  However as a freelance senior management consultant in the arts and culture sector, her work load has increased significantly over the past six months, and she is no longer able to commit as much time to CHGT as she would like going forward.

Vicky Taylor, the vice chair, will act as chair in the interim period until a successor is found. A recruitment process will be underway in due course.

Sian Alexander said:

“I have really valued my time at Chiswick House and Gardens Trust, particularly at such an exciting time for the Trust as it prepares for the community and learning campus. These new facilities will enable the Trust to welcome many more community groups to the site and to ensure its financial security. I wish the Trust every success in the future and, as a local resident, will continue to enjoy the wonderful gardens and estate and watch its progress with pride.”

Vicky Taylor said:

“We are sorry to see Sian leave and are very grateful to her for the hard work she has put in to push forwards our capital project and to oversee the recruitment of trustees and several governance initiatives which have hugely strengthened the board. “
