Sculpture inspired by life
Discover the art of sculpture in the heart of Chiswick House.
Try your hand at sculpting from life, guided by Chiswick House based professional sculptor Gillian Brett, whose public bronze sculpture of Fanny Wilkinson – the UK’s first female landscape designer – was unveiled last year in Southfields and featured in The Guardian as well as BBC and ITV news.
Why not join our friendly Wednesday evening classes, held in the fabulous new Learning Hub at Chiswick House? You’ll be part of a small group, allowing for individual attention for every student.
Suitable for absolute beginners and those with some experience of sculpture or working with clay, you’ll be encouraged to develop your observational and sculptural skills, at times working with a live professional model. Throughout the class, your tutor will be on hand to review progress, demonstrate key techniques, and offer support, guidance and feedback.
Experience the wellbeing benefits of working with your hands as part of a like-minded group. Over the ten-week term, you’ll undertake a number of projects, including creating a portrait bust and a figurative sculpture.
All tools, materials and equipment included.
