Spatial Awareness – An Exploration of the Architecture of the Soul

Join Architect and yoga instructor Lauren Dutton for an experiential workshop, where the yogic subtle energy model supports a journey inwards to explore ourselves, physically, emotionally, psychologically and spiritually. Through working with posture, breath and imagination, explore how this energetic system forms a map through levels of consciousness which supports and integrates with our modern scientific understanding of physiology, psychology and neuroscience.

Inspired by Chiswick House and its architectural connections to Palladio and Vitruvius, Dutton draws our attention to the way in which the West found geometries derived from the human body to create an order and architecture in the outer world, while those practicing Tantric rituals in the East withdrew inwards, through meditation, to reveal an inner geometry depicting the architecture of the soul.

Please note: This activity takes place in the gardens by the Ionic Temple. In the event of bad weather, the activity will take place in a covered location. Mats will be generously provided by Cork Yogis. This activity will have low impact, combining gentle floor based physical movement with breathwork and meditation.
