Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you make:
Batch #001® creates award-winning organic skincare products, for dry, sensitive, eczema and psoriasis-prone skin, powered by the bees, the land and the seas™, harnessing the magical properties of beeswax, and with a purpose to halt the decline of the honeybee and our natural world.
After a long career in International TV, launching hit formats – such as Masterchef, I’m a Celebrity, The Island and many more around the world – I founded Batch #001 a few years ago. We’ve grown quickly and are stocked in prestigious stores in the UK and abroad, have been featured in respected publications such as You Magazine and STELLA, and won leading industry awards.

How did you get into making your product?
I was inspired by my allergy and eczema prone girls, to create a range of completely natural and organic products they could use to soothe and repair their inflamed and irritated skin. They had both suffered terribly with eczema and allergies from birth and I was looking everywhere for something completely natural, to help ease our skin flare-ups.
Whilst visiting a beekeeper friend, and she told me about the incredible natural properties and benefits in beeswax. Revered by our ancestors for its magical properties – beeswax is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, edible, naturally aromatic, it burns cleanly, is non-toxic and 100% natural. I was inspired to start experimenting, not only by creating The 100% Beeswax Candle, but looking into how this wonderful wax could work in skincare. And so BATCH #001 was born – creating products which are 100% ethically sourced, cruelty free and made using all natural and organic ingredients.

What are you working on at the moment?
We have just launched the Rose Collection – with each product enriched with a blend of the finest Rose essential oils. We also have several new product ranges launching in the Autumn and have just moved into bigger, permanent offices just down the road in Brentford.

Which of your products are available in Chiswick House Shop?
Chiswick House stocks our 15ml sizes of our Organic Beeswax Balms – Sensitive, with Eco Cert Prickly Pear Seed Oil and with Organic Tea Tree and Lavender.

What do you love about Chiswick House and Gardens?
Chiswick House and Gardens is my favourite outdoor place to visit in Chiswick. It’s where I walked with my baby in her pram almost every day during my maternity leave. It’s where I do the weekend dog walk with the family and have birthday picnics with friends.  I love it just as much in winter as summer, but right now it’s a wonder.  The fabulous Café and children’s play area and newly opened Shop, make it a must visit.  I also love the events, such as Gifford’s Circus and Duck Pond Market.  Just a couple of the wonderful things on offer.

What’s your top Chiswick tip?
Coffee, croissant and walk around Chiswick House and Gardens, followed by a walk down Devonshire Road, then a stop for ice cream at Foubert’s. Browse around the Old Cinema, then pick up some plants at Wheeler’s. Finally head down the High Road and Welleseley Road, over the footbridge to the river, and a stop at the City Barge for a long lunch. The perfect Chiswick summer day.
