We’re Green Flag Award® winners again!

We are delighted to have been awarded not just one but two Green Flags in 2021, our third Green Flag and first Green Heritage Site.

These prestigious Awards reward well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for the management of recreational outdoor spaces across the UK.

Earlier this month, we won 5 awards at the 2021 London in Bloom awards

It is always a joy to have the hard work of our staff and volunteers recognised. Caring for 65 acres of heritage gardens and landscapes takes time, knowledge, hard work and lots of cuppas!

But we are a small team, and we wouldn’t be able to keep the Gardens open for everyone every day if it weren’t for the support of our locals.

Pick for Chiswick!

Help us to keep the grounds looking beautiful for everyone to enjoy. Join our Chiswick House & Gardens litter pick on Saturday 16 October.

‘Pick for Chiswick’ will be our first community litter pick and sign washing. To join us from 9.30-11.30am on 16 October, register at https://chiswickhouse.beaconforms.com/form/3bf9b85d. Walk-ups will also be welcome on the day. Bin bags, buckets and grabbers will be provided, but please help us reduce waste by bringing your own marigolds or gardening gloves if you can. After an hour and a half’s hard work, join us for tea, coffee and treats and learn more about our community of volunteers.

Why no bins?

Following the example of parks and attractions around the UK, we took the decision earlier this year to remove most of our bins. We are now asking visitors to leave no trace, take your litter home with you and recycle what you can.

It costs us £3,000 per month to collect and dispose of waste and, by taking your litter home with you, we can invest the money saved in maintenance of the House and Gardens. It also frees up our garden contractors to do more gardening and volunteer Rangers so they can focus their time on repairs.
