Team-building and time outside: our Corporate Volunteering Partnership with QVC

We’re delighted to announce that our new Corporate Volunteering Partnership, with our friends at QVC, is kicking off this month.

Small groups from QVC’s Chiswick Park offices will be joining our gardeners for sessions throughout the year, helping them with vital on-site work and supporting our existing volunteers with key gardening tasks.

Later this month, the QVC volunteers will be creating natural plant supports in the 17th century Kitchen Garden where we grow our seasonal fruit, vegetables and flowers, half of which is donated to local charities.

As well as providing us with much-needed hands-on help, and supporting our work as a charity, we believe that corporate partnerships like this, and corporate volunteering days more generally, are beneficial for everyone involved.

They ensure that employees can experience time outside, enjoying physical exercise and team-building activities with small groups of colleagues. We also hope that participants will pick up new skills, grow in confidence, and learn more about what it takes to run a 65-acre green space and public gardens in an environmentally friendly, community-spirited way.

We believe that a day or half day away from the office or day job, in a beautiful outdoor setting like Chiswick House & Gardens, can really help energise individuals and teams – as well as help bring co-workers together (especially useful as virtual working increases).

Finally, we’re pleased to be strengthening our relationship with QVC, whose generous support, via this partnership, helps us to remain open for everyone, for free, every day.
