Chiswick House and Gardens Trust announce Xanthe Arvanitakis appointment as new Director

CHGT are delighted to announce the appointment of Xanthe Arvanitakis as the new Director of the Trust. This follows the appointment of Sir Derek Myers as the new Chair in September.

Xanthe is an experienced cultural leader in the heritage sector. She is currently Interim Director of Visitor Experience, Marketing and Commercial Services at the Old Royal Naval College. Most recently she led the launch of the new visitor experience with the re-opening of the Painted Hall following a £8.4million award winning conservation initiative. Previously she was Director of Commercial and Operations at the Sir John Soane’s Museum where she also led a transformation project. An early career in tech saw the successful growth and merger of two award-winning digital agencies.

Sir Derek Myers said, “I am delighted that Xanthe has agreed to take up the Directorship of CHGT at such an important time in the Trust’s development. Xanthe is the ideal person to lead the Trust as this exciting time and I look forward to working with her to look after this magnificent estate that is well-loved by all who use it.”

Xanthe said, “I am thrilled to take up the role as Director of Chiswick House and Gardens Trust and have the opportunity to work with the Trustees, staff and volunteers to help shape the future plan and ensure the magnificent Grade 1 listed house and gardens continues to thrive”.

Xanthe will join the trust in March 2020.
