Chiswick House & Gardens Seeks to Recruit New Trustees

Would you like to join Chiswick House & Gardens as a trustee?

The eleven person trustee board at CHGT has a mixture of local residents, funder representatives and national experts. Our trustees serve a maximum of two terms of four years and from this principle of rotation we have four vacancies to be filled by April 2021.

We now seek expressions of interest. Please be aware that we had applications from our last round of vacancies in 2019 that we will reconsider so past applicants should not re-apply.

At this time we are seeking applicants with specific expertise and/or experience as follows:

  1. Experience of managing Heritage buildings, collections and/or historic gardens and/or
  2. A knowledge of heritage architecture relevant to our estate and/or
  3. Experience in heritage conservation, relevant to our responsibilities

You will need to be able to work as part of a team and to show you have a sufficient understanding of the duties of a charity trustee.

The Board meets up to six times a year for half a day in Chiswick during office hours and we encourage trustees to join in other events and fundraising efforts.

During our last recruitment, we had a response too large to allow for informal discussions ahead of application, so interested parties are encouraged to apply by letter setting out their experience and enthusiasm addressed to Sir Derek Myers, Chair of the Trustee Board to derekmyerschgt@icloud.com by no later than October 4th 2020.

Shortlisted applicants will be sent further details and we currently hope to hold face to face interviews on site in October and/or November, circumstances permitting.

There is a quantity of information on the Trust’s website and elsewhere in the public domain which interested parties are directed to.
